Celebrity Style – Cheryl Cole
Meet Cheryl Cole - the sexiest woman and London style icon
Cheryl Cole
The gorgeous British singer, model and TV star Cheryl Cole has recently been voted as the "World's Sexiest Woman 2009" by the readers of men's magazine FHM. In February, Cole appeared on the cover of British Vogue. The shoot marked the Girls Aloud singer's transformation from tracksuit-wearing wannabe to A-list star. Married to the Chelsea and England football player Ashley Cole, Cheryl was also recently named as the Style Icon of the Decade in a poll for a TV channel.
Besides her drop dead smile, her lustrous mane and sexy pins, her incredible personality and character has won Cheryl her ever-growing legion of fans is her über-cool style. She wears the most stylish outfits that look ultra-stunning on her slim figure and teams them with some very sexy high heel shoes to complete a fab look that every young woman aspires to.
When Cheryl first appeared in front of the television cameras as a 19-year-old teenager, she possessed none of the self-assurance that would later become one of her defining characteristics. Regular Cole watchers even point out that there is often a slight tremor to her voice when she starts singing during live performances. To many people, her insecurity was one of her greatest assets. People find her imperfections very appealing as they can all relate to them.
Sensational judge for the X-Factor
The illustrated singing and modeling career of Cole got a phenomenal boost when it was announced in June 2008 that Cole would replace Sharon Osbourne as a judge for the fifth series of The X Factor - the popular British television music talent show by Simon Cowell. Cole was given the Girls category, subsequently ending up as the winning judge, with Alexandra Burke winning the show. Week after week, audiences were enamored by a radiant vision of dimples, her grace, and the stunning styles of Cheryl Cole.
According to many observers, apart from her gorgeous costumes and designer shoes what won Cheryl a legion of fans consisting of both men and women, is her disarming compassion and sensitivity. During the auditioning process, she was empathetic and warm to the point of a perpetual, lip-wobbling teariness. When asked to comment on the contestants' performances, she was both forthright and sensitive, a winning combination of feistiness and femininity.
According to Cheryl’s publicist Max Clifford, her popularity is a consequence of both her credibility and her sincerity. Simon, whose contract is up for renewal at the end of the year, is so pleased with Cheryl’s success in the show and has been quoted in saying that he hoped she would stay on board for the next season.
She Has a Shoe Fetish
The gorgeous Girls Aloud star claims to have a shoe fetish. In an interview she said the best thing about being in the British girl group is the variety of glamorous footwear she gets to wear. During her stint as the X-Factor judge stylists noted that the petite (Cheryl is just 5 ft 3) singer’s selection of high heel shoes not only leveled her out with the other judge’s heights but also displayed that a pair of high heel shoes can complete an outfit to perfection. From the very first auditions Cheryl’s edgy clothes finished off with those fabulous designer high heel shoes aspiring every girl to update their collection with shoes like hers.
From her choice of shoes, Cheryl appears to have a strong liking for ultra high heel shoes. Even when she arrived for her flight to Mount Kilimanjaro she was spotted wearing high heel stiletto shoes. Cheryl seems to prefer a lot of designer peep toe pump shoes, sling-backs, and high heel sandals. She also has a liking of knee-high shoes with spindly stiletto heels. Some of her most talked about shoes include bright pink high heels which she wore with a stunning pink dress, Rupert Sanderson platform pumps, red Dolce & Gabbana shoes, navy Christian Louboutin pumps and silver Jimmy Choo sandals with vertiginous high heels.
However, despite her new found obsession with shoes, Cheryl does not consider herself a style icon and believes people put too much emphasis on fashion.
